One of the important factors in machine-made carpet is its reeds and density, which has a great impact on the strength, beauty and price of the carpet. Each machine-made carpet has two characteristics or two types of density, which are called density and reeds.

Reeds: The number of roots (colored knots) in per width meter of carpet. For example, 1200 reeds carpet, means 1200 roots (colored knots) is woven in per meter of carpet. Common market reeds are 700, 1000, 1200 and 1500.

Carpet density: The number of roots (knots of color) in one meter of carpet length is called the density. For example, carpets with a density of 3600, i.e. in one meter of carpet length, 3600 roots (colored knots) are woven, common longitudinal densities in the market are: 2550, 3000, 3600, 4500.

What is the difference between carpet density and carpet reeds?

Carpets with more shoulders are finer and more textured, so they are more similar to hand-woven carpets. Some of the advantages of fine-textured machine-made carpets are their softness and durability, and the durability and longevity of the carpet. So the reeds of the carpet is related to the design and layout of the carpet. But the density, as its name suggests, is related to the compaction. High density makes the carpet firmer.

If the beauty and appearance of the carpet is important to you, we suggest that you choose the most dense ones. But if you are looking for a product that has the desired quality and price, the 700-reeds type is the right choice. Leyli Carpet offers 700, 1000 and 1200 reeds carpets that are produced in the latest designs.
