History of machine-made carpets in Iran

The history of machine-made carpets in Iran shows that this product is almost 40 years old. In the early 50's, the first machine-made carpet in Iran was woven by Kashan velvet and silk factories by jacquard weaving machines with synthetic fibers, relatively short and light  were woven and gradually introduced to the carpet market.

at the same time with the production of the first carpet in Iran, some traders introduced carpets with the same specifications and to some extent better than Belgian carpets into the Iranian carpet market and introduced the Iranian taste to machine-made carpets. With the good response of the people to the machine-made carpet, people started working in this field and the owners of Behshahr Industrial Group, who were famous investors in the country, established Kashan Carpet Industries Company, which was active in the field of carpet materials and textiles. And it introduced its first products to the carpet market in 1974. After that, other companies such as "Shahbaz Carpet Co" (Gilan Carpet), "Moulin Rouge Carpet or Naghshe Iran" and "Ekbatan Carpet Co" were established and competed with each other. In 1978, a number of textile industry experts and machine carpet industry practitioners, as well as a number of carpet owners who were active in the field of weaving, thought of creating new centers for machine carpet production and established many factories. Here, too, the evolution of machine-made carpets began in Iran, and one after another, machine-made carpet factories emerged and began to operate.

Today, Kashan is one of the most popular carpet production factories in Iran and Kashan machine-made carpet is one of the most famous machine-made carpets in the world. Nowadays, more than 1,600 small and large carpet production units have been created that produce and sell machine-made carpets and tablecloths in a variety of colors. It should be noted that the price of machine-made carpets varies widely depending on the type and quality.
